Although most of my pieces are light in colour I like making darker piece which have a different relationship to the additional colours that are applied to them. The white chalk like marks around the bottom edge in this piece are added with an engobe pastel and fired onto the surface. The strip of clay around the bottom edge helps to elevate the form.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides . Fired to 1140C
