Yellow Boat 2
Height 11cm Width 17.5cm Depth 7cm
Once this piece was assembled I then cut it into 2 sections. I then applied different surfaces to each section before putting the 2 parts back together again. The heavily textured part was achieved by sprinkling ground up pieces of dry clay and slip onto the surface. The red circles are a crucial part of the composition as they help to visually tie the 2 sections together. I've been using this rusty yellow colour recently and really like it, especially with the contrasting turquoise glaze inside.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides . Fired to 1140C
