The red marks in this piece are made with a pastel that I make using the ingredients of a low fired Chrome glaze. I like the drawn quality of these marks which are quite different to the darker incised lines that are also on the surface of this piece. The square shape that interrupts the rim of the pot has a clear turquoise glaze over an engobe that crazes. There is a nice combination of concentrated marks and quieter space in this one.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides . Fired to 1140C
