The speckled section in this piece has been created by sprinkling various dried and broken up pieces of engobe and slip into the soft clay slab. These are then rolled into the surface. The blue glazed shape straddles both halves of the piece and this helps to create a visual link between them. I like being able to alter and play with the composition of the different elements on the surface of a pot, so in this piece the blue and red shapes swap place from one side to the other.
Slab built using black clay with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides . Fired to 1140C
