Edge of the Quay
Height 13.5cm Width 9cm Depth 6cm
I felt this piece suggested some human made forms in a natural landscape. I have made pieces with black bases before but in this one I wanted to break up the edge between the black and white sections by making the pink / terracotta rectangle shape step across that line. The blue around the top edge could almost go unnoticed but is an important element and creates a contrasting softer feel to the other shapes that have more defined edges.
Slab built with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
