There is a light terracotta wash of slip in the background of this piece that was the first colour I applied to the surface. Other washes of white engobe have then been applied before more dominant marks that are made with my engobe pastels and underglaze are drawn and brushed on. The turquoise glaze around the top edge has melted beautifully to create a slighly thicker bottom edge where it has run in the kiln.
Slab built with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C.
