This is the smallest piece in this collection but is also the most horizontal in its format. A thin wash of terracotta slip was the first layer to be applied to the surface and is still just about evident around the bottom edge. The white area has a texture that has been created using some powdered engobe that has been applied to the surface. The glossy blue glaze has been applied over this texture which is evident in the close up image.
Slab built with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
