This piece has been created by wrapping soft clay around wooden blocks but on this occasion I altered the shape of the wooden blocks so the ceramic piece would have a rounder shaped base. This change to the form enhances the sense of balance in this pot. This combination of colours work well; most of the surface has a matt finish but the green corner is a glossy glaze which also enhances the impressed cross marks.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
