These little number tiles have been impressed into the surface when the clay is still soft. A wash of red underglaze has then enhanced the number and the edge of the tile. Although its predominantly yellow the little bit of pink along the edge creates a contrast for the yellow as does the terracotta that is still showing around the top edge.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
