I had some small pre fired tiles with numbers impressed into them that I rolled into the surface of this piece, these numbers have a thick white engobe applied over them which softens them and their outline. The pot was left upside down as the thick engobe dried, and this created the run marks that are visible over the thin wash of terracotta slip. These run marks become part of the mark making process.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
