This one is made of a course black clay, the dark colour of the clay has a more dramatic contrast with the lighter colours that I apply over it. The red mark over the pink was made with a red glaze pastel that I make. I think the number shapes suggest the rusted serial numbers painted fishing boats. There is a shiny blue glaze inside and a bit of the same glaze to fill in a circle around the bottom edge of the outside, which helps to visually connect the inside and outside.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
