This piece plays with the form and shape of a cup but is not intended to be used as a cup. Its size means it is a very tactile object that can be explored in the hands. I like the way that the "handle" adds a sculptural element to the form and its additional shape has been highlighted with a darker colour and impressed repeated marks. It has a mostly matt exterior surface but there is a small area of shiny turquoise glaze around the bottom edge.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
