Field and Circles
Height 13cm Width 12cm Depth 10.5cm
The textured half of this piece was created by dragging a course grog through a wet slip. Although it has 2 distinct halves the red circles overlap the join and help to visually tie the 2 halves together. The red circles have been drawn into the soft clay and behind these are some fainter stenciled marks that are less obvious but help to create a depth and richness to the surface.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
