Iron Red Estuary
Height 18.5cm Width 15.5cm Depth 9cm
I made a painting that loosely referenced the Hayle Estuary. Its been on the wall in my studio for a while. The scratched lines in the bottom corner that could represent an architectural structure have been taken from that painting. I like the iron rich colour of this terracotta clay which makes a good contrast with the glossy turquoise glaze in the bottom corner.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140C
