After completing this piece it reminded me of the dark rocks that I see on the coastline around Godrevy. Despite their darkness they have varying shades of colour and rich and varied textures and marks that have been created because they have been exposed over millennia to crashing waves and weather. Between these rocks you can get glimpses of contrasting turquoise blue sea. The textures in this piece have been emphasised further with a wash of watery white engobe that settled in the deeper textural recesses.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
