Made of a gritty terracotta clay that remains visible and contrasts with the lighter colours that have been applied over it, to me this piece suggests something of an Autumn (Fall) landscape. The darker shape that steps out above the top edge has been added by cutting a section out and fitting a bigger piece back in. The red chalk-like marks are applied using a red ceramic pastel that I make, I really like the hand drawn quality of the line that the pastels make.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
