The subtle colours and textures give this piece a gentle feel. much of the surface is white, but there is a depth to the white that has been achieved with washes of colour before the final layer of white was applied. Although its generally rectangular in shape the stepped out blue glazed section adds an important alteration to the form. The texture under the blue glaze was achieved by drawing the rounded end of a paintbrush through some thick white engobe.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
