There is a sense of space in this piece with a wavy red and pink shape has an ambiguous feel that could suggest some kind of human made intervention in a natural landscape. The colours appear relatively simple but the almost unseen green haze above the pink serves as a vital contrast to the pink. Most of the surface is covered in a white engobe, but under this is a wash of terracotta slip that adds a depth to the white areas. There is an area of white glossy glaze around the top edge which partially covers the indented grid like marks.
