Height 12.5cm Width 15cm Depth 8cm

I like exploring different ways that my work can stand. In this one I feel the repeated rectangular legs act like marks on the surface but also part of the form that elevates the pieces to create areas of space underneath. The dark marks around the top edge have been created by repeatedly indenting the corner of a piece of wood into the soft clay. Dry brushing over these marks with white engobe helps them to stand out. There is also a turquoise glaze around the top edge that creates a glossy surface compared with the otherwise matt finish of the rest of the piece.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
