The black additions have become more that just marks on the surface, they can also be seen on the inside of the pot which gives them a more structural feel. I like the way they jut up above the top edge of the piece. Most of the surface is matt but there is a glossy white glaze over one side of the piece which creates an additional tactile quality. Some black grog has been sprinkled and imbedded into the surface around the bottom edge and a thin layer of white engobe over this helps to integrate it with the other textural marks on the surface.
