This piece lived in my studio for a while as I wasn’t sure if it was finished or not. I then decided to use one of my red ceramic pastels to scribble over the yellow section. It was a quick mark to make but but it added so much to the surface and meant the piece was at last complete. I really like the quality of that pastel mark and how it contrasts with the other marks that are scratched into the clay or pre fired tiles that have been pressed into the soft clay.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
