I have been working on getting the right green colour and this piece has achieved what I wanted. It works particularly well with the red / orange window. The composition of edges, shapes and lines in this piece express my experience of the landscape and how boundaries, footpaths, fields and structures combine to suggest a sense of place and narrative. Most of the surface has a matt finish that has been achieved using layers of slip, engobe and underglaze but there is also an area of glossy transparent glaze that follows the top edge of the lower, mostly blue shape.
