Harbour Post I
Height 11.5cm Width 16cm Depth 8cm
I intend these legs to evoke an architectural quality. They are similar to repeated lines that I could have drawn on the surface but I like how these are 3-dimensional and become part of the form. It feels like they add another dimension as they raise the main form off the surface which creates space underneath. The legs are added by cutting a piece out of the main form and slotting the leg in, this way they are also visible on the inside which makes then feel more structural. There is a variety of subtle colours on the surface; I particularly like the green haze around the harder edged blue shape.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
