To make the step in the form I cut the piece in 2 and stuck the pieces back together so they weren’t quite lined up. I usually make these leg additions black but I wanted these to be another colour and rather than making them all pink I thought the end one should be red. The blue shape in the middle was made by scribbling lines into the soft clay, these lines have been filled with a little cobalt oxide to make them more blue and a glossy turquoise glaze to finish it off.
