The very gritty clay that this piece is made of adds a positive textural quality to the surface, there are some almost unnoticed indented marks that have also been applied which further enhances the textural surface. I was pleased that the pink brush marks are still visible and were made more prominent by delicate dry brushing of white over this area. The red dot around the top edge is an important focal point but the subtle blue haze around the red plays its part in enhancing the richness of the colour.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
