The white circle is a dominant part in this piece; it crosses from the darker side to the lighter section and this helps to visually link the 2 halves. Some subtle colours can be seen within the darker section when studied closely; some orange and blue grog has been sprinkled into the soft clay and over this is a transparent glossy glaze that has a hint of richer blue where it is thicker. The yellow lower corner is an important visual contrast to the mainly blue surface.
