Height 21.5cm Width 26cm Depth 11cm

I like using this yellow colour but am very aware of the importance and the role of the other colours that go with it. In this piece the yellow in enhanced by some pink that was applied under the yellow along the bottom edge, there is also some grog over this part which adds another texture to the surface. The letter and number shapes have been applied using a stencil; the positioning of these is so important and they deliberately cross over the top edge to make the appear slightly fragmented. Probably influenced by seeing the graphic number shapes painted on the hulls of rusty steel boats in Newlyn harbour.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
