I love these darker inset pieces on the edge of this form that are a bit like adding repeated lines in a 3 dimensional way. It was important to me that these marks varied in length and angle. They have been made by cutting into the main form and slotting in the slab. This means the piece is also visible on the inside which wouldn’t be the case if they were simply stuck to the surface. The blue area is a glossy glaze which has a contrasting tactile quality compared to the otherwise matt surface.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
