Yellow Field Path

Height 28.5cm Width 17.5cm Depth 10.5cm

I enjoy using this yellow colour but it’s important to me that there is some variety and depth to the yellow. In this case a wash of terracotta slip was applied first which is still visible through the yellow. The green circle which protrudes off the edge of the form has a glossy glaze over it. The dark area on the other edge is an important addition that helps define the outline of the form. Although its not specifically about a particular place it reminds me of a summer walk across the North Cliffs area of Cornwall where shapes of fields, footpaths and coastline combine across the landscape.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
