I like the open landscape feel to this piece which has a sense of fresh air and space about it. The texture around the bottom edge was made by pushing the end of my finger into the soft clay, I then dry brushed some white engobe over this which helped to highlight but also soften these marks. The white edge is a white glossy glaze that covers and partly masks some of the marks but it also creates an additional shape in the overall composition.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
