Height 11.5cm Width 17.5cm Depth 8cm
This piece came from a drawing in my sketchbook. I think I had been influenced by some of the shapes I had seen in derelict boats in the estuary. The cut out shape along the top edge with a red band around it suggests the presence of a structure that has been partly lost, like an opening or a window. A large section on one side has been covered with a white glaze that has a glossy tactile quality compared with he rest of the surface that is more matt.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
