Much of the landscape in this part of Cornwall has evidence of human activity that goes back over 1000s of years. The field boundaries in particular have been established for generations and I enjoy watching how the fields change colour and texture as the year passes and sometimes contain surprising colours. Some course grog was sprinkled and imbedded into the soft clay around the bottom edge of this piece to create a textural quality and this has had some light green engobe brushed over it to create a slightly different colour to the mostly white foreground.
