Height 17cm Width 17cm Depth 9cm

I have become quite attached to this piece mainly because it took several firings to get it right. When it first came out the kiln I couldn’t work out what wasn’t quite right about it but eventually I decided it was too pink, or the wrong sort of pink. So I added thin layers of white engobe and re-fired it. After 2 further firings it felt complete. It’s sometimes difficult to rationalise why a piece of work is successful or not but this one just works for me in a very instinctive way. Hopefully it will go off to a new home but I won’t forget about this one.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
