Height 17cm Width 17cm Depth 9cm
I like observing how the coastal landscape around me changes as the tides and waves slowly alter the shape of the beach. This piece is a result of watching the water run and swirl around the rocks on Godrevy Beach. I wanted the yellow line to have some movement to it, so I dragged some course grog through it which left directional scratch lines that can be seen and felt. The other edge has some glossy turquoise glaze over it which contrasts with the otherwise matt surface.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
