The marks in the blue coloured top half have been made using a monoprint technique. The black piece was inserted into the pot and I like the way that this creates a broad line that has a 3-dimensioanl quality. There is a concentration of marks around this inserted piece with the impressed holes and the brighter red glaze; this area contrasts with other areas of the surface which have deliberately been left plainer.
