Morning Air

Height 12.5cm Width 10.5cm Depth 9.5cm

The top edge of this piece has a clear glossy glaze over it; it’s shiny finish contrasts with the surface of the rest of the piece which is more matt. The dark marks where impressed into the soft clay and a wash of oxides has darkened these and helped to make them more visible and prominent. The yellow / orange area was an important addition as a contrasting colour to the overall blue green surface. The colours and space in this pot reminded me of the fresh morning air.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
