The shape on the bottom corner was added primarily to extend the size of the base to make the piece more stable but I liked the addition to the composition that this piece added so made it larger and added the crazed white engobe on it to make it more prominent. The indented marks add a characteristic texture to this piece and they were created by pressing the tip of my finger into the soft clay. Although this piece is yellow there is an important addition of a more orangy yellow under the drawn circle; this additional bit of colour gives the piece more depth and richness.
