Height 17cm Width 10cm Depth 8.5cm
When the cylinder shape had been made I then cut it horizontally and twisted the top half 180 degrees before re-joining it. I like this minor distortion of the form and the almost unnoticed join about a third of the way up that resulting from this intervention.
When talking about colour I often explain that as much as I enjoy colours its combinations of colours that really excite me. Green and red are great partners but the addition of terracotta lines and almost unseen blue lines and the pink halo around the red spot add even more richness. The bottom third of this piece has a clear glossy glaze over it.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
